The document builder supports flexible content editing with e-signatures, initials, variables, pricing tables, and customizable document settings.
Importing an existing PDF
Already have a contract or proposal? Import an existing PDF and turn it into a signable document without recreating it from scratch.
To import a PDF:
Go to Docs.
Select New Agreement.
Choose Import From PDF.
Upload your PDF file.
From there, make sure to review the imported PDF and move forward to adding on new elements and input fields if needed.
Creating a document
Create a new document from the Agreements section. To create a document:
Go to Docs.
Select New Agreement.
Choose Create from Scratch or select Blank Agreement.
Enter the document title.
Confirm the sender and recipient details.
Select Continue.
The sender is automatically populated based on the account you are logged in with.
To change the sender:
Select the three dots (…) next to the recipient.
Select Change Member.
Choose the team member you want to assign.
Select the recipient(s).
Continue creating the document.
Building document content
After creating a document, you will be taken to a blank page where you can add content.
You can add content by:
Selecting an option from the insert menu.
Clicking and dragging an option directly into the document.
Available content options include:
Text — Add written content and formatting.
Lists — Add numbered or bulleted lists.
Layouts — Organize content into structured sections.
Blocks — Add reusable document sections.
Input — Add fields recipients can complete.

Select any added block to edit its settings and customize the content.
Adding estimates
You can populate a pricing table using an existing estimate. To appear as an option, the estimate must be linked to the same company as the document you're creating.
To add an estimate to a document:
Add a Pricing block to your document.
Select the pricing table to open its settings.
Click the Estimate dropdown.
Select the estimate you want to use.
The estimate's line items, pricing, and totals will automatically populate the pricing table.
Adding pricing details
Pricing tables allow you to include structured pricing information directly in proposals, quotes, and contracts.
You can add pricing tables as document blocks and customize them based on the information needed for the agreement.
Adding signatures and recipient fields
Recipients determine who completes actions within a document. When adding signature, initials, or input fields, assign the field to the correct recipient. The recipient’s information will automatically connect to the assigned document field.
This allows each person to complete their required actions when reviewing or signing the document.

Variables automatically add information from recipients, projects, and system details into your document.
Available variable categories include:
Sender variables
Receiver variables
Document variables
Add document details such as:
Created date.
Sent date.
Currency.
Other document information.
Creating custom variables
You can create custom variables to add your own reusable information to documents.
Custom variables help keep documents consistent when the same information is used across multiple agreements.
Sending documents for signature
Add Signature and Initials fields wherever recipients need to sign or acknowledge parts of the document, then assign each field to the appropriate recipient so everyone is prompted to complete only their designated fields.
Once your document is ready:
Click Send in the top-right corner of the doc builder.
Review and confirm the recipient details.
Select Continue.
Review your email message, then send the document for signature.
Your recipient(s) will receive an email inviting them to review and sign the document electronically.
Creating document templates
Templates help you standardize proposals, contracts, and other frequently used documents so your team can create consistent agreements faster.
To create a template:
Open an existing document or create a new one.
Build your document using the content blocks, variables, pricing tables, and signature fields you want to include.
In the top-right corner, select the three dots (...).
Select Save as Template.
Enter a template name.
Select Save.
Once saved, the template will be available the next time you create a new agreement.
Publishing a template to your company
If you're part of a team, you can publish a template so it's available for everyone in your company to use.
To publish a template:
Open the template.
In the top-right corner, select Publish.
Confirm the action.
Once published, the template will appear in the template library for your team when creating new agreements.
Unpublishing a template
You can unpublish a company template at any time if you no longer want it to be available to your team.
To unpublish a template:
Open the published template.
In the top-right corner, select Unpublish.
