Document link expiry

Here's why the links to your proposals, contracts or invoices expire and what to do when they do.

Updated this week

We’ve added a feature that generates a unique, expiring link when sending a proposal, contract, or invoice to a client (via email or URL). The link will expire in one of two ways, whichever comes first:

  • 30 days after the document's due date.

  • 30 days after the document is created, if no due date is set.

For invoices, the link will also expire as soon as the invoice is paid.

What to do when the document link expires

Once the link expires, your client(s) will see an “Expired Document” page and will be able to request a new link to be sent to their email by clicking the "Send new link" button:

Once they have done so, a new unique link will be generated for them (URL) or sent to their email address (via email). From there, they can access the document via the new link.
