How to bulk edit your expenses

Learn how to edit or delete multiple expenses at once, and how to manage expense categories efficiently.

You may need to edit your expenses in bulk, either to delete them all at once or to Bonsai allows you to bulk edit expenses to save time, whether you need to:

  • Delete multiple expenses

  • Update the expense category for several items


Steps to Bulk Edit Expenses

  1. Navigate to the Expenses page in your Bonsai account.

  2. Click Edit Multiple to enable bulk editing mode.

Selecting Expenses for Bulk Actions

  • Hover over each expense to reveal a checkbox, then select the expenses you want to edit.

  • You can also use the search and filtering options to select a specific group of expenses based on keywords, date, category, or other criteria.

Performing Bulk Actions

Once your expenses are selected, you can:

  • Delete them all at once

  • Update the category for all selected expenses

Important:

  • Expenses that have already been billed to a client cannot be deleted or modified.

  • To delete billed expenses, you must first delete the associated invoice.
