Activity feed on contact details

Keep all contact interactions visible in one place.

Overview of the activity feed

The activity feed on the contact details view provides a timeline of key events for each contact. It consolidates updates, notes, and assignments in one place, helping teams track client interactions efficiently.

Types of events in the activity feed

This includes:

  • Contact updates and history

  • Notes and assignments

  • Documents (invoices, proposals, contracts)

  • Messages (emails and client portal messages)

  • Meetings

This makes the contact page a single source of truth, so you don’t need to switch between different sections to track activity.

Contact creation

  • Displays when a contact was created

  • Includes the creator’s name and timestamp

Note: Contacts created before the activity feed was introduced will not show creation events.

Contact property updates

Any updates to contact details are logged automatically. Includes:

  • Standard fields (e.g., phone number)

  • Custom fields (e.g., region)

Steps to trigger an update event:

  1. Navigate to the contact details view

  2. Edit a property

  3. The change appears instantly in the activity feed with old and new values

3. Notes

You can add notes directly to the activity feed.

Steps to add a note:

  1. Click "+" > “Add note” from the activity feed.

  2. Enter the text, including markdown if needed.

  3. Submit to see the note appear as an event.

Deal assignments

When a deal is assigned to a contact, the assignment appears as an event in the activity feed.

This allows teams to track ownership and responsibilities across ongoing deals.

Documents (Invoices, Proposals, Contracts)

The activity feed now includes document-related events. Tracked actions include:

  • Sent

  • Viewed

  • Paid (invoices)

  • Signed or accepted (contracts and proposals)

How it works:

  • Each event appears with a widget showing key details

  • Clicking the event opens the associated email in an overlay

Messages (Emails & Client Portal Messages)

All communication with a contact is surfaced in the activity feed. Includes:

  • Project emails (sent and received)

  • Client portal messages

How it works:

  • Clicking a message event opens the full email or message

Note: For Client Portal messages, only the company name is currently displayed (not the individual contact name).

Meetings

Completed meetings now appear in the activity feed. How it works:

  • Each meeting appears as an event with a widget

  • Clicking it opens a side drawer with:

    • AI-generated summary

    • Meeting transcript
