Overview of the activity feed
The activity feed on the contact details view provides a timeline of key events for each contact. It consolidates updates, notes, and assignments in one place, helping teams track client interactions efficiently.
Types of events in the activity feed
This includes:
Contact updates and history
Notes and assignments
Documents (invoices, proposals, contracts)
Messages (emails and client portal messages)
Meetings
This makes the contact page a single source of truth, so you don’t need to switch between different sections to track activity.
Contact creation
Displays when a contact was created
Includes the creator’s name and timestamp
Note: Contacts created before the activity feed was introduced will not show creation events.
Contact property updates
Any updates to contact details are logged automatically. Includes:
Standard fields (e.g., phone number)
Custom fields (e.g., region)
Steps to trigger an update event:
Navigate to the contact details view
Edit a property
The change appears instantly in the activity feed with old and new values
3. Notes
You can add notes directly to the activity feed.
Steps to add a note:
Click "+" > “Add note” from the activity feed.
Enter the text, including markdown if needed.
Submit to see the note appear as an event.
Deal assignments
When a deal is assigned to a contact, the assignment appears as an event in the activity feed.
This allows teams to track ownership and responsibilities across ongoing deals.
Documents (Invoices, Proposals, Contracts)
The activity feed now includes document-related events. Tracked actions include:
Sent
Viewed
Paid (invoices)
Signed or accepted (contracts and proposals)
How it works:
Each event appears with a widget showing key details
Clicking the event opens the associated email in an overlay
Messages (Emails & Client Portal Messages)
All communication with a contact is surfaced in the activity feed. Includes:
Project emails (sent and received)
Client portal messages
How it works:
Clicking a message event opens the full email or message
Note: For Client Portal messages, only the company name is currently displayed (not the individual contact name).
Meetings
Completed meetings now appear in the activity feed. How it works:
Each meeting appears as an event with a widget
Clicking it opens a side drawer with:
AI-generated summary
Meeting transcript

Why don’t older contacts show creation events?
Historical contacts created before the activity feed existed are not backfilled to avoid performance issues.
Can all note formatting appear in the feed?
Yes, standard text and markdown formatting are displayed directly in the activity feed.
Are meetings and communications tracked?
Yes, the feed surfaces these events alongside deals and notes for a complete view of interactions.
