Duplicating tasks
You can easily duplicate tasks to save time when working with similar items. Duplicating a task copies key details, such as the task description, assignee, subtasks, and priority.
To duplicate a task, first navigate to Project Management and select Tasks. Next, open the task you want to duplicate. In the top-right corner of the task, click the 3 dots (...) in the top right-hand corner and select "Duplicate":
This will create a duplicate of your task.
You’ll know the task has been successfully duplicated when the title includes "(copy)" and a confirmation message appears in the bottom right corner indicating, "Your task has been duplicated.":
When you duplicate a task, key information from the original task is carried over, including the description, files, assignee, subtasks, priority, dates, billing status, and tags. Please note that duplicating a task does not copy any time tracked from the original task, nor does it transfer any "Activity" comments to the new task.
Duplicating a task will reset the status of both the task and its subtasks to the default status in your account (e.g., "Backlog").
Once you've duplicated your task, you can manage it just like any other task in your account.
Duplicating task templates
You can also duplicate your task templates. This makes it easy to copy an existing template and modify it to suit your needs, creating a similar template with any preferred changes.
To do so, first navigate to Project Management, select Tasks and then Task Templates. Next, select the 3 dots (...) to the right of the task template you'd like to duplicate and select "Duplicate":
This will create a copy of your task template. You can then customize the new template to meet your needs.
