How to add contractors to your Bonsai account

A step-by-step guide for adding contractors through Client Mode.

When using our Contractor Management feature, you can add new contractors to your account through Client Mode. This allows you to invite them to use the platform and manage their onboarding workflows.

Note: Please note that Contractor Management feature is only available on specific pricing plans. To view which plans include this feature, please visit our pricing page here.

Entering Client Mode

To enter Client Mode, select your profile icon in the bottom-left corner of your account and then select 'Switch to Client Mode':

If you don’t see this option, you may need to enable it in your account settings first.

To do so, select 'Settings' > select the 'Client Mode' tab > select 'Switch to Client Mode':

Inviting your contractor from Client Mode

Once you're in Client Mode, navigate to the 'Contractors' page to invite a contractor to your account:

Enter the email address of the contractor(s) you'd like to invite. If you’d like them to complete an onboarding workflow, select that option at the bottom of the pop-up, as shown here:

Your new contractor will receive an automated email from Bonsai with a link to access their portal. Please note a paid subscription is not required for contractors.

Once the contractor has finished setting up their Bonsai account, they’ll be able to issue you invoices for their completed work.
