If you prefer using Stripe to accept payments, Bonsai makes it easy to integrate your Stripe account directly. With Stripe Payments, you can accept Credit Card and ACH payments, similar to Bonsai Payments. The only difference is that Instant Payouts are not available as they'll be managed through your Stripe account.
Steps to connect your Stripe account
1. Deactivate Bonsai Payments (if necessary)
If you are currently using Bonsai Payments, you may need to deactivate it first:
Navigate to the Payments page in your Bonsai account.
Click the three dots (...) in the top right corner.
Select Deactivate Payment Method.
2. Edit payment methods in invoices
Navigate to the Invoices page.
Click on Edit Payment Methods.
3. Connect your Stripe account
Once Bonsai Payments is deactivated, you’ll see the option to connect your Stripe account. You can either create a new Stripe account or link an existing one.
After connecting, your Stripe account will be fully accessible via your Stripe dashboard. All payments received will flow through Stripe while remaining integrated with Bonsai invoices.
Note: Connecting an existing Stripe account will create a Stripe “sub-account.” This account is fully accessible from your Stripe dashboard and is managed through the Bonsai integration.
