If your contract has already been sent but requires changes, follow these steps to learn how to make edits and resend the document.
Note: This feature is not available if your recipient has already signed the contract.
How to unsign and edit a contract
When a proposal is sent out, it's required for you to sign the proposal. As such, the contract will need to be unsigned to be edited.
To get started, head over to your Contracts page by selecting Client Management > Contracts on the navigation bar.
Click on your contract and select the additional options. From here, pick the 'Unsign & Edit' option.
A confirmation screen will appear to advise that the contract will be reverted to an editable state and will need to be signed once more. Confirm that you would like to continue by clicking on the 'Revert Contract' button.
Note: Any previous links to the contract will be invalidated for security purposes.
After making your desired edits, select the 'Sign Contract' button. The modal will appear to input your name to sign the contract.
Once the contract has been signed, it can be sent to your client by clicking on 'Send contract'. Your client will then receive an email from Bonsai with a link to access the contract, where they can accept or decline it.
How to change a recipient's email address
If you need to update the recipient's email address, this can be done in a few simple steps.
Please note that this will not change the email address on the client's profile. To learn how to edit an email address for a client, take a look at our resource on How to add and edit your client's information.
Access your Contracts page by selecting Client Management > Contracts on the navigation bar. Click on your contract and head over to the additional settings. From here, select the 'Change Recipient Email' option.
A confirmation screen will display to notify you that the existing link will no longer work moving forward for security reasons. Click on 'Yes, I understand" to continue.
To edit the recipient's email address, select the 'Send Contract' button. From here, use the client email field to input the updated email address and send the contract. An email with a new link will be sent to the client.
Your client will receive an email from Bonsai with a link to access the contract to accept or decline it.
