Unable to complete verification or add a payout account with Bonsai Payments

Learn why you might encounter errors when verifying your Bonsai Payments account and how to resolve them.

Verification of your account is only applicable if you are utilizing Bonsai Payments.

Common Verification Issues

  1. Incomplete Account Information

    • Missing details such as address, tax ID, or other required information

  2. Mismatched ID Verification

    • Name on your ID does not match your account or business name

  3. EIN Number Verification Failure

    • Usually occurs with a newly registered EIN with the IRS

  4. Maximum Verification Attempts Reached

    • You’ve tried to verify your account too many times

How to Check and Update Your Account

  1. Go to the Payments page in your Bonsai account

  2. Look for a message indicating your account requires verification

  3. Click Update Info to return to the account setup flow

    • Note: the message may appear differently depending on your progress in setup

Verification Timeline

  • Full verification can take up to 5 business days if your account is subject to manual review by Stripe

  • Ensure all information is accurate to avoid delays
