The Revenue by Service Report shows a detailed breakdown of revenue and tracked hours for each service. It helps you understand:
Which services generate the most revenue
How much time is spent per service
How billable work translates into service-based income
Important Notes
The report only includes tracked and billable time entries
Services must be explicitly assigned to tasks for revenue attribution
Missing time entries or service mappings will result in incomplete data
The report depends on proper configuration of:
Task billing settings
Service assignments
Time tracking accuracy
How to ensure your report displays data
The report displays two main metrics per service:
1. Revenue per Service
The total revenue generated from each service. This is calculated based on:
Billable time entries
Hourly rates or billing rules applied to tasks
Service associations assigned to tasks
Time entries are tracked: Make sure all billable time is logged against tasks. Without time entries, there will be no revenue data to report.
Services are associated with Tasks: Each task must be linked to a service. This ensures that the billable time revenue is correctly attributed to the corresponding service.
2. Hours Worked per Service
The total tracked time associated with each service.
It includes:
All billable time entries linked to tasks
Aggregated hours per service category
Requirements for data to appear in the Report
For the Revenue by Service Report to display accurate data, two conditions must be met:
1. Time Entries Must Be Tracked
All billable work must be logged as time entries
Without tracked time, no revenue can be calculated
If time is not tracked, the report will show no data.
2. Tasks Must Be Linked to Services
Every task must be associated with a specific service
Services define how revenue is categorized and grouped
